Hi Joseph, if you have a deep enough recess, you can fit a separate blind behind your shutters, you will get some light bleed, but it will be a cheaper option. Check handle protrusion so the blind does not catch. You will get a tighter fitting blind and less light bleed with a pre-fitted blackout shutter option. Most built-in options use pleated blinds, there is a lower-cost roller blind option about to become available. Regards Sam.

Ideally, you will need to know the manufacture or contact the company they were ordered from to order a replacement, you could swap the damaged louvre to the very bottom or top of the panel so is not so visible and try and repair it.

@@opennshut that’s the thing, it’s really nice solid dark wood but has no name on it and I can’t match it by picture online so far, I was able to get the slat back on the peg and stain the chipped off part so it’s ok for now, thanks for the info

You can order a custom angled corner post like this www.opennshut.co.uk/info-hub/bay-posts/ and order one frame, or you can order two frames and butt them together, they can be screwed at the point they touch to stop the light coming through. With the bay post option you can still use the easyfix system, you would normally only need the D1 fixings at the top and bottom of the bay, not at the sides.

Not sure I can help with that one! Shutters are normally sprayed as the paint is much thinner, if you have painted it could have run into the pivot holes or gaps. If the louvres are open, I would suggest laying the panel flat on the floor on something soft and try and move all the louvers together to try and free them, or carefully one at a time giving them a wiggle to crack any paint. Check visually to see if you can see a built up of paint anywhere.

@Benjamin2893 He's right. It's odd not to have clear view of the windows. Curtains can be pulled right back & won't obstruct one's view; but each to their own.

Without seeing the windows it's hard to say for sure, but 3 1/2 would normally be what I would recommend.

They don't seem to make low profile handles for doors as they are heavier and generally need locks.

Hi Pauline, downstairs I would tilt the louvres upwards, upstairs I would tilt the louvres downwards. For max light tilt the louvres downwards just a little so you get light reflecting off the louvre blades.

@@SweetPeaG No problem, if you're on a hill and the window is downstairs and higher than the pavement, then treat the shutters like an upstairs windows and tilt them down, then you get light and privacy.
